The Team
Alex Dolan
Hi, I’m Alex Dolan! My life revolves around dogs all day, every day — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I grew up in Wollongong, where I met an amazing community of dog people who helped me learn, grow, and deepen my passion for dogs. Since 2022, I’ve been working with dogs through pet sitting, daycare, and shadowing reward-based trainers. I’ve also had the wonderful opportunity to learn from Laura, gaining hands-on experience with breeding and raising pups.
My love for dog care and their mental health truly flourished when I began training my own assistance dog. That experience opened the door to the exciting world of dog sports — including agility, nosework, and mantrailing. I particularly love nosework for the confidence it builds in dogs and the strong bond it creates between handler and dog.
More recently, I’ve stepped into the world of grooming, where I’ve been learning under the guidance of trusted, experienced groomers. I love helping dogs look and feel their best, and I always aim to make grooming a calm, positive experience.
I’m passionate about continuing to grow my knowledge in dog training and behaviour so I can provide the highest standard of care — and soon, I hope to be able to do assistance dog training.
In 2025, Laura and I moved to Clybucca, where we’ve purchased a purpose-built property designed to provide a safe, enriching environment for dogs. Our business offers dog boarding and grooming services, and no matter what brings your dog here — a stay, a groom, or learning — our goal is always the same: to make every dog’s experience positive, comfortable, and fun.
Laura Cartwright
Hi, I’m Laura Cartwright — a lifelong animal lover and dog enthusiast. In fact, I’d say dogs are the centre of my world, and each day revolves around them !
I grew up in Sydney and moved to Wollongong in 2014 to study at university, where my passion for dogs and behaviour really began to take shape. During my years there, I worked as a reward-based dog trainer, specialising in psychiatric assistance dog training, and spent much of my time providing dog sitting, walking, and day care services.
Outside of work, I became an active participant in the world of dog sports, particularly agility and nosework. Over the years, I’ve also started exploring other scent-based activities such as retrieving and mantrailing — anything that allows dogs to use their amazing noses! Nosework quickly became a personal favourite for me, and I found a real sense of connection and joy in the sport. After completing many hours of handling and observation, I’m now thrilled to be teaching Nosework classes here in Clybucca.
In 2025, Alex and I moved to Clybucca after purchasing a purpose-built property designed to create a safe, enriching environment for dogs. Alongside assistance dog training which I continue to offer, our business offers dog boarding services and dog grooming. Grooming is a new venture to us since moving here, but we are well supported by hands-on experience and guidance from trusted, experienced groomers.
I am also proud to be a labrador and cocker spaniel breeder under the prefix Aquam Amici, focusing on raising confident, healthy puppies who get the very best start in life. Careful early socialisation and positive experiences help each puppy grow into a well-balanced, happy companion ready for their new family.
Our goal is to provide a space where every dog feels comfortable, understood, and happy — whether they’re here for a stay, a grooming session, or a chance to learn something new.
